Since 2002, as an index to be used as part of CSR management, we implemented Social Responsibility Accounting to quantitatively grasp the costs of environmental protection and social contribution activities. The total of investment and costs for FY2010 amounted to 7,702,219,000 yen, which is 120.6% of the previous year. This is the largest figure, even superseding the total amount in FY2008 when multiple new mall opening and large-scale expansion are implemented. Although investments towards photovoltaic power generation facilities, which we focused on in the previous year, decreased to one-fifth of the previous year, investment in LED lighting was over 100 million yen, a 6-fold increase. Costs of 537,100,000 yen were booked for the year especially after an exhaustive review in disaster & crime prevention for a multitude of our shopping malls including, increase of surveillance cameras, and maintenance of smoke detectors and the replacement of fire extinguishers. Additionally, costs of 3,999,380,000 yen, an increase of 604,700,000 yen from the previous year were booked as we have made huge efforts into policies including the systematic management of energy saving facility operations and of water quality preservation, following on from the previous year.
